SnuzPod 5 vs Tutti Bambini CoZee Air 2: One Lifts Off the Stand, the Other Folds Flat for Grandma's
Two bedside cribs at around £200 that solve different problems. The SnuzPod 5 has a lift-off bassinet you can carry room to room; the CoZee Air 2 folds flat into a travel bag in about 30 seconds. Here is who each one suits.
COMPARISON · NURSERY & SLEEP
Spend an evening reading about bedside cribs and they all start to blur together. Six height settings, mesh windows, a drop-down side, a tilt for reflux, wheels. The SnuzPod 5 and the Tutti Bambini CoZee Air 2 tick almost every one of those boxes, and they sit within about £20 of each other. On a spec sheet, this looks like a coin toss.
It isn't. Once you look at how each crib behaves outside the first fortnight, they are built around two completely different ideas of what a bedside crib is for. The SnuzPod 5 is a piece of bedroom furniture with a bassinet that lifts straight off its stand, so the same sleep space can follow your baby downstairs for daytime naps. The CoZee Air 2 is a crib that collapses flat into its own travel bag in about 30 seconds, so the same sleep space can follow your baby to the grandparents' house for the weekend.
Neither does the other's trick well. That is the real decision here, and it matters more than the mesh panels or the colourways.
To put this together we compared the current retail listings and manufacturer specifications for both cribs, and read through what parents tell us, and say publicly, about living with each one over the first six months. We looked hardest at the things that tend to cause regret: bed height fit, how heavy each crib is to move, and what happens when you need it somewhere other than your bedroom.

How we picked these two
Both cribs are new to our comparisons this year, both sit in the busy £180 to £230 band where most families end up, and both come from brands with a long track record in UK bedrooms. We deliberately paired them because they look identical on paper and parents regularly tell us they are stuck choosing between exactly this kind of shortlist. Every claim below is checked against current retailer listings or the manufacturer's own specification, and the parent comments are drawn from reviews and conversations we have read and heard, anonymised.
What to look for in a bedside crib
Bed height fit comes first. A bedside crib only works if the top of its side wall sits level with the top of your mattress. Divans, ottomans, low platform beds and thick mattress toppers all change the maths. Measure from the floor to the top of your mattress before you look at colours. The SnuzPod 5 is designed for beds where the mattress top is up to 70.5cm from the floor, which covers most standard UK beds but not every tall ottoman.
Think about where your baby naps in the daytime. In the first few months a lot of sleep happens downstairs. If you want one familiar sleep space that moves with you, a lift-off bassinet or easy-roll wheels matter. If you are happy to use a separate moses basket or pram downstairs, they matter less.
Count your nights away. If you stay with family regularly, a crib that folds flat and travels can save you buying a separate travel cot for the first six months.
Check the incline and the mattress. Both of these cribs offer a gentle tilt that some parents use when advised for reflux or congestion. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and your health visitor's advice. A firm, flat, well-fitting mattress is non-negotiable for safe sleep, and both cribs include one designed for the frame.
Weight and footprint. Both of these weigh around 12kg, which is substantial. Neither is something you will carry up and down stairs every day as a whole unit, so think about which part actually needs to move.
1. SnuzPod 5 Bedside Crib
The SnuzPod 5 is the latest generation of one of the most familiar bedside cribs in UK nurseries, and it still looks more like a small piece of furniture than a piece of baby kit. It is a 3-in-1 design: a bedside crib with a zip-down wall, a standalone crib on a rocking stand, and a bassinet that lifts off the stand completely so you can move your sleeping baby to another room.
This generation adds dual mesh view windows for airflow and visibility, a larger 3D mesh mattress (80 x 44cm, noticeably roomier than the SnuzPod 4), built-in wheels, and a redesigned comfort incline that uses the wheels to create the tilt. It is tested to the current bedside crib standards, and Snuz say the wall can stay down in bedside mode when the top of the wall is flush with your mattress.
What parents love
- Feels like proper furniture. The finish and sturdiness come up again and again. One parent told us: 'It feels really solid and it actually looks nice in our bedroom, which I didn't expect from baby stuff.'
- The bassinet moves with the baby. Lifting the bassinet off the stand means the same sleep space works for daytime naps in the living room. A parent shared: 'It's easy to move around the house if you need to, so naps happen in the same bed.'
- Mesh windows for checking in. The dual windows let you see your baby from bed without sitting up, and help airflow on warm nights.
- Babies seem to settle. We hear repeatedly from parents that the switch from hospital cot to SnuzPod was smooth, with one saying their baby settled well from the very first night.
What to know before you buy
- Check your bed height carefully. It is designed for mattress tops up to 70.5cm from the floor. Very tall ottoman beds or thick toppers may not line up, and the height adjustment is not as wide as some parents want.
- The bassinet still has weight to it. The whole crib is 12.4 to 12.9kg depending on finish. The bassinet alone is lighter than the SnuzPod 4's, but some parents still find it a two-handed carry.
- Not a travel crib. It comes apart, but it does not fold flat into a bag. For nights away you will need a travel cot.
Best for
- Families who want one sleep space for night sleep and daytime naps
- Parents who care about how the crib looks in the bedroom
- Homes with standard-height divan or framed beds
- Anyone who rarely stays away overnight in the first six months
2. Tutti Bambini CoZee Air 2 Bedside Crib
The CoZee range has been a quiet favourite for families who want a bedside crib that doubles as a travel crib, and the Air 2 is the most refined version yet. It folds open in about 30 seconds with no tools, folds flat again into the included travel bag, and comes with rocking bars, wheels with stoppers and a deeper under-crib storage tray.
Inside, the Air 2 has six mattress height positions, a gentle incline option, hidden ventilation holes in the side barrier alongside double mesh panels, a quilted cotton lining and a quilted bamboo jersey mattress cover. At around 12kg it is not light, but folded it is only about 12cm thick, which is what makes it genuinely portable. It regularly drops below its £229 RRP, and we have seen it at £183.
What parents love
- The fold is the whole point. Parents who visit family often love that the crib goes with them. One parent put it best: 'It goes in the boot in its bag and baby sleeps in the same bed at Nanny's as at home.'
- Easy to build. No tools, and set-up is quick. We hear repeatedly from parents that it was up and ready before the hospital bag was unpacked.
- Storage underneath. The deeper tray holds nappies, muslins and spare sheets within arm's reach of the bed, which matters at 3am.
- Plenty of height options. Six positions plus the incline give a good chance of a flush fit on most beds.
What to know before you buy
- Large footprint. At roughly 92 x 56cm it takes up more floor space than some parents expect in a small bedroom.
- No lift-off bassinet. You can wheel it, but you cannot lift the sleep space off and carry it downstairs. Daytime naps elsewhere need a separate basket or pram.
- Rocking means detaching. As with earlier CoZee models, rocking is a standalone-mode feature, so it is not something you do while it is attached to your bed.
Best for
- Families who stay with grandparents or friends regularly
- Parents who want to skip buying a separate travel cot for the first six months
- Anyone short on bedside table space who needs the storage tray
- Buyers who can catch it below RRP
What about the Chicco Next2Me or the Joie Roomie?
Both are popular alternatives and both are in our catalogue, but we have compared them in detail in earlier posts, so we kept this one focused on the two newer cribs that parents keep shortlisting side by side. If neither the lift-off bassinet nor the flat fold matters to you, a simpler crib from the £120 to £140 band may do the same job at night for less. Browse our other bedside crib comparisons for those.
How to choose
Choose the SnuzPod 5 if your baby will nap at home most days and you want them in the same familiar bed. The lift-off bassinet is the feature that no amount of wheels can replace, and the finish means it will not look out of place in your bedroom for six months. Measure your bed first, and if the mattress top is above 70.5cm, think again.
Choose the Tutti Bambini CoZee Air 2 if you are away from home more than a couple of nights a month, or you were about to buy a travel cot as well. The 30-second fold and travel bag make it two products in one, the storage tray is genuinely useful, and the price often comes in under the SnuzPod.
If you are genuinely split, ask yourself one question: in the next six months, will your baby sleep more often in your living room or in someone else's house? Living room points to the SnuzPod 5. Someone else's house points to the CoZee Air 2.
